Change

Ok, so instead of going to the concert and getting all hot and sweaty, I'm going to go to a Jim DeMint thing and then babysit. I'm excited because I'll get to see a friend I haven't seen in a while, and I'll get to make some money. That way I can buy the Point of Grace greatest hits CD I've been wanting. Then I can enjoy it infinitely. Anyway, I should be studying, but I'll do it tonight and Sunday, so it'll be a good break. And besides, if I screw up this class, I can just take it again. If I don't make a habit of that, I'll be ok. Anyway, just a quick update...Haven't watched any of the DNC, because it's too infuriating, despite its entertainment value. I'm currently watching Chicago- I love the Cell Block Tango song. Check it out, y'all!

Bored

Well, I got my chem homework done in 3 hours, all of it, so that's exciting, even if I did have a lot of help. I was sooo wired when I got out from the room where the TAs help people, I wanted to go to the gym and work it off, but I couldn't because of my stupid shoulder. It's not anything serious, just from where I was in a car that got rear-ended. It's really annoying not being able to use my left arm. But it could have been worse I suppose...Anyway, I have a test on Monday that I need to do well in, I'm trying to relax before I study, but I'm bored. It's funny, all I did was lie around and watch TV last month, but now when I get the chance to do it, I'm bored. But don't worry, I'll survive! There isn't anything good on now, so I'm watching Demon Knight again. Cool movie, it's Tales of the Crypt. I saw it once when I was little and thought it was cool, although it was definitely NOT something a little kid should've been watching...So I might go see Point of Grace this weekend, they're having a concert after a baseball game. I'm not into watching sports, but I do like their music, so I'll try to check them out. Anyway, hope y'all have a happy day!

ZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZz

Talked to Kate last night for almost an hour about stupid stuff, which is just what I needed...gave her the link to this, which is only fair since I'm writing about her... Anyway, it was good since I had a really bad day yesterday...I fought with my parents, but more importantly, I found out my cousin's cancer has recurred. I won't get into the details, but if y'all prayed for him I would appreciate it, his name is Kevin.  Anyway, back to my non-existent life...watching America's Sweethearts, talking online. I think I did ok on my EMT test that I finally took, but I won't know for a while.  As for chemistry, well, I won't get into that. But anyway, hope you enjpyed the tidbits!

So Unproductive

I'm in a weird mood tonight...I found this really cool thing on RealPlayer where this sheep dances to the music, with all this random stuff in the background- kinda like my brain. I really hate my class, but I can't change at this point...I'm watching this Golden Girls episode where Rose gives her cat to a little kid. Everyone says the kid's a boy, but I swear it's a girl. Poor kid...Man, this is so sad. Oh well. I guess the novelty of this has worn off. I'm hopefully going down to Beaufort on Friday, after my test of course. We're going to do the Water Festival. Should be interesting, this will be the first real trip I've been on in a while. Anyway, maybe if I keep these short, I'll be able to do more of them. I should be doing something productive, but I'm really unmotivated right now...

Stuff

The parade went pretty well. It was the Watermelon Festival in Pageland, this little town in the Pee Dee region of the state. Anyway, met some fun new people, even though it was WAY too early for my taste...might go to the Water Festival in Beaufort next weekend in Beaufort. Yeah I know...a festival about water? Apparently this one's pretty big, though. Personally, I think this state has way too many festivals...Anyway, our power went out last night, which is always a pain. I was in the middle of chatting with somebody, too. And of course whenever the power goes out, our dog freaks out...but then he freaks out at everything. I am trying really hard to study for my EMT test, but it's really boring. Okay, so I'm procrastinating because there are so many more fun things to do...So I should really go do that. I'll try to post more, I know I've been slack lately.

Summer school...

is not going that great. It does take up a lot of time though. Anyway, hope you enjoyed the pictures. My Internet's been down for a few days, but I managed to get it back up a few hours ago. I didn't get to take my EMT test last week, but I'm not too upset, because now I have more time to study. On Saturday I'm going to some little town I've never heard of to do some parade stuff. We leave at 7:30 A.M. Sounds like fun, huh? Glad I'm not driving...Anyway the Jim DeMint people have found new digs, this old bank building downtown. It's weird because everybody parks in the old drive-thrus and they still have the little setup where the people stand behind in a bank. It was pretty bare, but they were moving all sorts of stuff in today, like tables for the volunteers to sit at and do their grunt work and ugly fake plants. It doesn't sound like much fun, politicking, but I love it, I really do....Anyway, might not be posting much, I have to pull my chemistry grade up...Keep the positive!

Update

Hope y'all liked the picture. I don't have a digital, but I had my pictures from Europe put on CDs, which I just found, so I thought I'd show cyberspace what I look like. Anyway, I started my chemistry class this week. The professor's pretty good, but it's in the morning and I keep falling asleep. I think if I just sit down with it, I'll get it. I also have my written EMT test tommorow, which I should be studying for. I'm not too worried about it, but I do want to pass so I can get certified. I need to get a Joe Wilson bumper sticker. I don't have as much time as before for volunteering, especially since my lab starts next week, but hopefully I can squeeze some in. Anyway, this is shorter than normal, but I really do need to study. I might put up another picture later.

Hail to the USA!

Yesterday was my patriotic day. I was in a group of about twenty people; we walked alongside the parade route handing out Joe Wilson stickers while he rode in the parade. We had lots of his stickers and only a few Jim DeMint stickers. I felt kind of bad because there were only a few Jim DeMint people there- if I'd known that, I would have gone with them, but oh well...saw a few people I knew, some of the paramedics I trained with watching the parade, but didn't talk with them at length, we had to keep moving...a few kids I worked with for Jim DeMint during the runoff, and a friend of mine from College Republicans who'd worked on the Beasley campaign, but she was excited about working with Jim DeMint and all the other candidates, and of course I got some peaches from the Peach Festival...I bought some chips, and they gave me a fifty-cent piece in change. My grandfather used to give me those when I was little, I had quite a collection, I don't know what happened to it- I probably spent it. Anyway, looking forward to seeing the fireworks tonight, hopefully nobody gets killed. They're shooting them off already...God bless America! And I truly mean that.

Eating vanilla pudding with a straw...

Why? Because I can't be bothered with finding a clean spoon. For some reason, I was thinking of the time I IM'd my friend Meka (even though at the time she was just down the hall in the dorm, but we're lazy college students) and she said she was eating chicken fingers and applesauce, and I told her to dip the chicken in the applesauce, and she said it tasted really good...the jump to that story is logical to me, but not to anyone else...anyway, I signed up for the written test next Friday. I emailed the woman at DHEC, who was also my teacher, and got a reply quickly. Kate, on the other hand, tried to call them and couldn't get through...she could have taken a earlier test cause she passed the practical her first try...I tried to give her the email addresses, but her phone kept cutting out. I hope she got them, and can get into the test (tomorrow's the last day she can try) cause then she could come down here and we could take the test together...But we'll probably be in lots of contact this month, cause for Summer 2 she's taking Spanish 121. She doesn't like it, but it's my minor. I'm taking Chem 112, which is going to be hard in summer, I'm better at biology, but then I can take Organic chemistry in the fall. I'm not in the same section as Kate and Meka, my ever-helpful chemistry-major friend (they're at 8 a.m. and mine's at 5), but I just found out we have the same professor, so we'll be able to help each other...I'm looking forward to getting back to school, seeing my friends, volunteering, hopefully working, continuing the march towards my dream...

Okay, so I watch WAY too much Discovery Channel...

but hey, how else can I pick up all my useless knowledge? Anyway, the program I was just watching was on Nazi hunting. It didn't go into who was responsible, but Josef Mengele lived free and clear in South America for forty-some years. It was only discovered that it was him AFTER he died, not before. Even though at his funeral there were lots of obvious Nazis. I'm sorry, but there's no excuse for that. The most wanted Nazi war criminal in the world is...still wanted. He's in Syria, and in the past he acted as a security advisor. I love America, always have, but somebody was just a little slack on this. Maybe us, maybe Europe, but it's just wrong that people who helped orchestrate the mass murder of 11 million people should be allowed to live their lives in peace. I'm not a big fan of the FDR administration anyway (limited government anyone?)... I'll have to do some more research, but many are already beyond justice in this world, anyway. I suppose I'll have to take comfort in that I believe they will be punished, in ways we cannot imagine...
