When Did I Become One of Those People?

I never really watched much network-type television. I love true-crime stuff- Forensic Files, Cold Case Files, but I didn't do the fake CSI stuff. Same with medical shows- nobody ever lets me watch ER with them cause I sit there and yell at all the mistakes they're making. I love the Golden Girls, because it's one of the few comedies I actually find funny. But drama? Well, I guess when the TV is on all day it was bound to happen....

I'm addicted, folks. I admit it. I'm addicted to some of the very TV dramas I used to rail against. Law & Order: SVU, Strong Medicine, Summerland... I'm trying to figure out how this happened. How, since last summer when I started watching SM, did I become so attached that I get upset over "the ruining of the show's premise" by hiring a male to play the lead? One of the very type of crime shows I used to eschew, now I can't stop watching- although I still think SVU is better than most of the crime shows on network television. I just wonder when I became such a junkie that I could bore people to death by yakking on and on about Summerland. Summerland! I can just hear some of you- "It's a TV show, for Pete's sakes! It isn't real!" I suppose I have far too much time on my hands...

OMG, I am so into those forensic shows.

L&O SVU is pretty decent too.

I love the Golden Broads, too. Watched them every day at lunch when I was in X-ray school.

Glad you commented at my site, so I could find my way over here! You mean I am not the only one who has sung "Thank you for bein' a friend . . ." at 4 pm and again at 4:30? I hate that they truncate it, though, I always sing the full theme song. I gotta love any sit com about 4 women whose favorite midnight snack is cheesecake.

And now you've become one of those people who blog about "how I became one of those people".

{shakes head}

Your posts are as regular as William Shatner on bran, that I don't see how you have time left for T.V!

Golden girls was great. I confess, if 3's company is on, I'll sit and watch it.

As far as the forensics go, CSI is not that far off... They actually look into some of the more interesting theories behind forensic anthropology (though this is only for the original CSI and not the Miami or New York ones, I just don't like those as much)

I'm very frustrated with Neal! Sometimes he eats the bone, but most often he just looks at it. I don't know what command to use. I hold the mouse for so long and then let go and still just a stare from Neal. Sometimes I double click and still just a stare. I don't know what to do. sniff.

Left-click and hold the puppy treats bag to "grab" the bone. Move it around, Neal will watch. To release the bone, you let go of the left-click. But it will only do so if it's above his head and he has to jump for it. Otherwise, it won't release.

I'm convinced that little demon dog does not like me! I tried it again and he just won't jump. Where's my whip?

Uh, sorry, I realize that last comment sounded a tad harsh, must be the coffee beans I've been munching on.

I am bug-nuts about NCIS. Hated this last regular season episode when my absolute favorite character, Kate Todd, took a round between the eyes. She wanted off the show, it has been said, but I wish she would have called and talked to me about it first.

Anyhoo, reckon that show has jumped the shark. Already heard Joan of Arcadia won't be back next season. (I know its kind of a chick show, but lay off...)
